ICHIL is situated in a historic house dating from the early 20th century. ICHIL is situated in Barrio Brasil in downtown Santiago – 500 meters from the Presidential Palace (La Moneda). Barrio Brasil is one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Santiago, and has gradually become the city’s cultural and bohemian centre. Today the area is extremely popular amongst fashionable youth and in-the-know foreigners who converge in the Barrio’s bars and cafés.
Barrio Brasil’s well preserved architecture and historic heritage now house cultural centres, theatres and restaurants. Here the old and the new Santiago coexist; a mix of colonial houses, lofts, small and large stores, banks and beautiful squares… In short, it’s a very special place for both Santiago residents and visitors. It is a place of possibilities for encounters and rich exchanges between our students and young Chileans alike.
Two metro stations (Santa Ana and Los Héroes), and many bus lines provide easy access to ICHIL.
